Video from Chicago to Hana Shalabi

Hana Shalabi was brutally arrested in February 16, 2012, she is in hunger strike since then, protesting the Israeli administrative detention policy. 

Hana Shalabi is following the steps of Khader Adnan who started a hunger strike in December 17 lasted for 66 days, before he ended it, in a deal, in which he be release in April 16 or charged, giving him the chance to defend himself. 

A group of Activist in Chicago, made this great video for Hana, the video start with the definition of the Administrative detention, to continue with the story of Hana detention for 2 years, release in the prisoner swap deal, and then arrest again.

Hana Shalabi is not the only one in hunger strike in the Israeli prison complex, many fellow prisoners joined her making this even a larger action against the Israeli unjust and inhuman policies.

Lets talk about the IDF lies

Earlier today the Israeli army spokesperson on Twitter Avital Leibovich  tweeted a video that she claimed was of an Islamic Jihad rocket launcher in action from the latest ongoing Israeli massacre of the Gaza Strip which until now, has killed 21 people (including two children) and injured over 60 in the past four days.

I recognized the video immediately as I had already watched the same 10 second clip a few months ago.  After a very short search I found the original video uploaded on October 11,2011, from the time when the Israeli army warplanes killed killing 7 Islamic Jihad members in an airstrike on Rafah, south of Gaza.

Avital through her tweets tried to mislead her followers by implying this video is from the encounter currently taking place in Gaza in an attempt to justify the brutal crimes committed by the only democracy in Middle East. 

Before I end, I must point out this tweet came hours after this post on the IOF blog. The Israeli army propagandists are gleefully congratulating themselves after proving a photo of an injured girl was from a few years ago, but as is the nature of Zionist trolling they have fallen in the same trap and unwittingly made the same mistake. Too bad not all of their followers are brain dead, and once again the Israeli army has its lies exposed.

A Message of Solidarity to Palestinian Hunger Striker Khader Adnan

On 27 October 1980, republican prisoners in HM Prison Maze(Occupied Ireland) began a hunger strike. Many prisoners volunteered to be part of the strike, but a total of seven were selected to match the number of men who signed the Easter 1916 Proclamation of the Republic. The group consisted of IRA members Brendan Hughes, Tommy McKearney, Raymond McCartney, Tom McFeeley, Sean McKenna, Leo Green, and INLA member John Nixon. 

On 1 December three prisoners in Armagh Women's Prison joined the strike, including Mairéad Farrell, followed by a short-lived hunger strike by several dozen more prisoners in HM Prison Maze. In a war of nerves between the IRA leadership and the British government, with McKenna lapsing in and out of a coma and on the brink of death, the government appeared to concede the essence of the prisoners demands with a thirty-page document detailing a proposed settlement. 

With the document in transit to Belfast, the IRA took the decision to save McKenna's life and end the strike after 53 days on 18 December

Before the hunger strike Mckearny told his parents 

I'll put all my cards on the table. I'm going on hunger strike. If and when I die, I want to be brought back to Roscommon and be buried alongside my "Granda" . . . Don't let people try to influence you, your only friends will be the Republican Movement. If I die, never let the family be ashamed. If I die, I'll die in the knowledge that my life was for the cause and for the other boys here. If at my funeral the press say, "See how the IRA let your son die", just say, "My son died as an Irish soldier, not a British criminal

Today, 30 years later, as Palestinian Prisoner Khader Adnan enter his 54 day of  the hunger strike he started solely in December 17, 2011. Tommy McKearney made this video to express solidarity with a fellow fighter for freedom and Justice.

Hamas and Islamic Jehad Merging Talks

Hamas and Islamic Jehad are discussing the merging of the 2 factions into one. uniting the Palestinian political  Islam under one flag, leaving behind some small factions such as Hizb AL Tahreer and the Salafies, who might join later.

Although I support all unity effort between the different Palestinian's factions everywhere, I cant hide my concerns about this unity "if it ever happened!".

In one hand, the merging between Hamas and Islamic Jehad will unite the Palestinian armed resistance against the Israeli colonialism creating a much bigger army, advancing the resistance tactics, and even make all actions against the Israeli oppressor more direct and painful. For me this is a dream coming true.

In other hand, this will mean putting the armed fighter under a joint leadership, a leadership that might have it's personal agendas, or objectives that are not in the interest of the Palestinian people. Which will put a lot of the resistance in one basket. If they decided to stop. EVERY thing will stop"we are talking about the 2 biggest armed groups here" anytime they don't feel like it. As what happened when the PLO decided to go with the piece talks in 1993.
I wont say this will be a problem if this leadership will be elected democratically by the members "if not the whole nation" Islamic block.".

Hamas Fighter

Finally we cant ignore any unity between Hamas and Islamic Jehad will create an Islamic block equally strong, and equally representative faction of the Palestinian people as the PLO, if not more. Which will make the PLO weaker than it's now, as many frustrated Palestinian individual "don't have to be Islamic" will join this block.

Their is still many issues Islamic Jihad and Hamas have to overcome, but if they managed to achieve unity between themselves. As a Palestinian citizen I demand them to join the PLO. or the PLO can join them.

Maybe for once we will work for Palestine
